Section of southbound S.R. 15/North Spring Garden Avenue closed for emergency repairs
DELAND, Fla. – Motorists are advised that all southbound lanes of State Road (S.R.) 15/North Spring Garden Avenue in DeLand are closed between U.S. 92/International Speedway Boulevard and West Plymouth Avenue for emergency road repairs.
The road was damaged when a semi-truck crashed, losing its load of plywood and striking a fire hydrant. Crews from the Florida Department of Transportation, the City of DeLand, and Duke Energy are working on the repairs.
As a detour, motorists wishing to travel south on S.R. 15/North Spring Garden Avenue should head east on U.S. 92/International Speedway Boulevard and turn right (south) on U.S. 17-92/North Woodland Boulevard. They will turn right (west) onto West Plymouth Avenue to return to S.R. 15/North Spring Garden Avenue, where they will be able to turn left to head south.
Motorists should expect delays and seek alternate routes, if possible. Those traveling in the area of the closure should slow down and use extra caution while traveling through the work zone. We all play a role in making sure everyone gets home safe.
