Traffic Advisory: November 19 lane shift on U.S. 17-92 in Sanford for CSX railroad crossing repair
SANFORD, Fla. – The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) advises motorists that all traffic lanes will be shifted on South French Avenue (U.S. 17-92) in Sanford – in the area of the West 13th Street/Historic Goldsboro Boulevard intersection – from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, November 19, as CSX temporarily closes the railroad crossing to make repairs. Sidewalks at the intersection may also be closed in the work area.
Access to South French Avenue (U.S. 17-92) will be closed at both West 13th Street and Historic Goldsboro Boulevard during the repairs, and motorists on those side streets will need to take an alternate route to turn onto or cross South French Avenue (U.S. 17-92).
Detour routes are as follows:
- Motorists on Historic Goldsboro Boulevard who wish to access South French Avenue (U.S. 17-92) can head north on South Holly Avenue, then turn right onto West 12th Street to reach South French Avenue (U.S. 17-92), where they can then travel north or south.
- Motorists on West 13th Street who wish to access southbound South French Avenue (U.S. 17-92) can head south on South Elm Avenue, then turn right on West 14th Street to reach South French Avenue (U.S. 17-92). To access northbound South French Avenue (U.S. 17-92), head north on South Elm Avenue, then turn left on West 12th Street to reach South French Avenue (U.S. 17-92).
During the railroad crossing work, motorists should remain alert, follow the signs for the lane shift and detours, and expect delays in the area. The work schedule is subject to change due to inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
