Traffic Advisory: Road Closure on Main Street (U.S. 301) in Wildwood for Rail Work Scheduled to Begin May 13
WILDWOOD, Fla. – Motorists should be advised that the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will close South Main Street (U.S. 301) near Switcher Street in Wildwood for four days beginning 8 a.m. Tuesday, May 13, and will reopen by noon Friday, May 16.
The four-day closure at Switcher Street will allow workers to remove the railroad tracks at this railroad crossing and repave the roadway. Detour signs will be in place to guide motorists around the closure.
Motorists on U.S. 301 wanting to head south should turn left on Huey Street then turn right onto County Road (C.R.) 44A. Motorists should then continue east and turn right on Powell Road, then turn right onto East State Road (S.R.) 44 and continue west before arriving at U.S. 301.
Motorists on U.S. 301 wanting to head north should turn right onto East S.R. 44, continue east and turn left on Powell Road. Motorists should then turn left onto C.R. 44A heading west and then turn left at Huey Street before arriving at U.S. 301.
Construction schedules are subject to change due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
FDOT advises motorists to use caution, be alert while driving or riding through active construction zones, and follow all posted detour signs.
