ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – Motorists are advised of full overnight closures on Interstate 4 (I-4) near Daryl Carter Parkway for the removal of overhead signage. Eastbound I-4 from Apopka-Vineland Road (State Road (S.R.) 535) to Central Florida Parkway and westbound I-4 from Central Florida Parkway to Daryl Carter Parkway are scheduled to close overnight Wednesday, March 19, into the following morning, Thursday, March 20.

Lane closures on eastbound I-4 will begin as early as 8 p.m. on March 19, with the full eastbound and westbound I-4 closures scheduled to begin at 1 a.m. on the morning of March 20.  All lanes are expected to reopen by 5 a.m. on March 20. Should inclement weather impact this work, the closures would take place the night of Thursday, March 20, and reopen early the morning of Friday, March 21.

Motorists traveling east on I-4 will be directed to take Exit 68 to Apopka-Vineland Road, where they will continue straight through the intersection to access Vineland Avenue. Motorists will then proceed north and head east before turning left onto northbound International Drive. From there, motorists will turn right onto the loop ramp to access westbound S.R. 528 (Beachline Expressway). From westbound S.R. 528, motorists will re-enter eastbound I-4.

Traffic on westbound I-4 will be detoured onto the collector-distributor road west of I-4 at Exit 70. Drivers will continue west on the collector-distributor road until they can re-enter westbound I-4 using the entrance ramp after passing underneath the Daryl Carter Parkway overpass.

FDOT advises motorists to follow posted detour signs and remain alert while driving through construction zones. Construction schedules are subject to change due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
