Upcoming Open House for S.R. A1A Improvements
VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. – Crossing State Road (S.R.) A1A in Daytona Beach Shores and Daytona Beach is expected to become a little safer thanks improvements planned by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT).
Along with a project to repave S.R. A1A from U.S. 1 in Port Orange to Davis Street in Daytona Beach, the FDOT will add new pedestrian crossings at Sea Spray Street and near Browning Avenue. The crossings will be equipped with Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacons (RRFBs) and in-road lighting. The proposed project will also upgrade seven other existing crossings with in-road and overhead lighting.
To learn more, community members are invited to attend a project open house on Thursday, February 13, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Shores Community Center, 3000 Bellemead Dr., Daytona Beach Shores, FL 32118. Attendees will be able to view a looping presentation and project displays, speak with project team members, and submit comments or questions.
