SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. — A busy segment of State Road (S.R.) 436 from Howell Branch Road to the Orange County line in Casselberry is slated for roadway and possible pedestrian safety improvements from the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) and the City of Casselberry.

The community is invited to learn more about the planned work at a project open house on Tuesday, January 7, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Winter Park Elks Lodge, 4755 Howell Branch Road, Winter Park, FL 32792.

The purpose of the project is to repave a segment of S.R. 436 from Lake Howell Road to the Orange County line to maintain a safe and reliable roadway surface. The City of Casselberry has requested some additional pedestrian safety measures and is working with the Department on an agreement to fund those improvements.

The open house is an opportunity for the community to learn about the project plans and provide feedback. Open house attendees will be able to view a looping presentation and project displays, speak with project team members, and submit comments or questions.

To provide additional flexibility for stakeholders, the FDOT is also offering online opportunities to get involved:

  • Join an online webinar at 5:30 p.m. to watch a project presentation and submit written questions or comments using the webinar questions box. To attend using this option, register at attendee.gotowebinar.com/register/1765282854908775003. Please make sure to provide adequate time to log in to view the presentation in its entirety.
  • Go to the project website at your convenience at www.cflroads.com/project/450583-1. Visitors to the page may watch the project presentation, view project exhibits, and submit comments and questions directly to the project manager. Project materials will be available beginning January 7 and will be the same as what will be shared at the in-person open house. While the information will remain on the website throughout the project, please provide comments or questions by January 17 to have the comments included in the open house record.
