MELBOURNE, Fla. – Motorists should be aware of an upcoming road closure on Strawbridge Avenue (U.S. 192) between Municipal Lane and Harbor City Boulevard (U.S. 1) from Friday, January 26, at noon to Monday, January 29, at 2 p.m. This closure is required for railroad crossing work. Access to businesses will be maintained.

The following detours will be in place to guide motorists around the work zone:

• Motorists heading eastbound on Strawbridge Avenue will be directed to turn right onto Waverly Place, left onto New Haven Avenue, and left onto Harbor City Boulevard before reaching Strawbridge Avenue.
• Motorists heading westbound on Strawbridge Avenue will be directed to turn left onto Harbor City Boulevard, right onto New Haven Avenue, and right onto Waverly Place before reaching Strawbridge Avenue.

Brightline will be upgrading the tracks to accommodate their high-speed trains.

FDOT urges motorists to use caution near all railroad crossings and when driving in areas with road construction. Please slow down, follow posted detour signs and stay alert.
