Merritt Island, Fla. – All traffic on North Courtenay Parkway (State Road 3) over the Canaveral Barge Canal in Brevard County is scheduled to begin shifting from the northbound bridge to the southbound bridge as soon as Monday, April 5. The transition from the current configuration to the new temporary configuration is expected to be completed by the end of the week.

During the shift, the left lanes on both bridges will be closed while traffic uses the right lanes. Law enforcement will be present.

Once the new temporary configuration is in place, all traffic will utilize one lane in each direction on the southbound bridge while the northbound bridge is closed so that crews can continue their work on replacing the bridges’ locking system.
