UPDATE: Schedule of S.R. 408 Ramp Closures Accelerates to Nights of Feb. 19, 20 & 21

Orlando - After several nights last week of successfully placing bridge girders for flyover ramps at the Interstate 4 (I-4) and State Road (S.R.) 408 interchange, the I-4 Ultimate project is ramping up its schedule to conclude the work five days earlier than expected.

To accommodate the safe placement of bridge girders, the eastbound and westbound S.R. 408 entrance ramps from I-4 and westbound S.R. 408 exit ramp to westbound I-4 will close tonight (February 19) from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. tomorrow morning (February 20). The operation will continue for two consecutive nights at the same times of 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. on Feb. 20-21 and 21-22.

The closures and construction activity previously was set to take place on the nights of February 21, 23 and 26. Work has proceeded so smoothly that crews now expect to finish the operation five days ahead of time.

A handout illustrating the closures and corresponding detours is available online to view or download at: http://fdot.tips/WB408. To view or download a handout detailing the final configuration of the I-4 and S.R. 408 interchange, please visit: http://fdot.tips/sr408.
