Road Closure: Southbound U.S. 441 at NW 2nd Street

Southbound U.S. 441 (Pine Avenue) is closed at Northwest 2nd Street as workers conduct utility work there. NW 2nd Street can be accessed using the following detour route:

• Traveling northbound on U.S. 441 (Pine Avenue), turn left on State Road (S.R.) 40/West Silver Springs Boulevard, right on NW 7th Avenue, and right on NW 2nd Street.
• Traveling southbound on U.S. 441 (Pine Avenue), turn right on S.R. 40/West Silver Springs Boulevard, right on NW 7th Avenue, and right on NW 2nd Street.

The work schedule is subject to change due to weather or unexpected circumstances.

Tuesday, April 30, through Thursday, May 2, from 8:20 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.: Motorists should expect a southbound traffic shift on U.S. 441 from S.R. 40 to Northwest 2nd Street for striping and barrier wall placement. Please slowly approach the construction zone, merge safely into the open lane(s), and proceed cautiously through the work area.

Wednesday, May 1, through Friday, May 31, 24 hours per day: Motorists should expect northbound outside lane closures on U.S. 441 from just south of West Fort King Street to Northwest 3rd Street for roadway widening and lighting activities. The intersection of U.S. 441 (South Pines Avenue) and S.R. 40 will be unaffected by the closure. Please slowly approach the construction zone, merge safely into the open lane(s), and proceed cautiously through the work area.

Starting April 5, 2024, the entrance to Ed Stone Park from New York Avenue (State Road (S.R.) 44) will be closed for approximately one month. This closure is necessary to facilitate the construction of the new access road to Ed Stone Park, St. John's Marina, and St. John's River Grill from New York Avenue (S.R. 44). During this period, a detour will be in place to guide motorists to their destinations. Drivers will be directed by video message boards and other signage to follow the designated detour route as follows:

DETOUR: Motorists wishing to access Ed Stone Park or adjacent properties from New York Avenue (S.R. 44) will be directed to take South Shell Road until they reach Old New York Avenue (County Road (C.R.) 4110). Motorists will then continue on Old New York Avenue (C.R. 4110) and travel under the S.R. 44 bridge to access Ed Stone Park, St. John's Marina, and St. John's River Grill.

The construction schedule is subject to change pending weather or other unforeseen circumstances. Please follow posted signage, avoid distractions, and allow extra travel time to reach your destination.

Sunday, March 31, through Friday, May 3, from 12:00 a.m. to 11:59 p.m.: Weather permitting, motorists can expect Eastbound and Westbound Wysteria Avenue at the Eastside intersection of South Orange Avenue to temporarily close for the installation of new drainage pipes and structures. Drivers can still access Wysteria Avenue and South Orange Avenue by following posted detour signs.

Starting Monday, March 25, the travel lanes on US 17 from SR 15A to south of Spring Street will be reduced to one outside lane in each direction from north of Retta Street to north of Berlins Street for traffic separator construction. The median crossover at Reynolds Road/Wheeler Street will remain open during this work.

Nightly full ramp closure from Sunday, April 21, through Friday, May 17, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Detour information: Northbound Florida's Turnpike/S.R. 91 traffic wishing to exit at Wildwood/U.S. 301 (Exit 304) will be directed to continue north to exit at Inverness/Wildwood/S.R. 44 (Exit 307) and then to travel east on S.R. 44 to South Main Street/S.R. 35/U.S. 301.

Temporary Road Closure on S.R. 50 at C.R. 751

A detour is in effect until further notice on S.R. 50 at C.R. 751 as crews work to construct a section of the proposed westbound travel lanes and the connection to C.R. 751. Detour signage will be in place to direct motorists. Flaggers may be present. Two-way traffic on S.R. 50 will remain open at all times. Work may be delayed or rescheduled at any time due to weather or unforeseen events.

Detour Information: For those wishing to access C.R. 751, eastbound and westbound turn right or left turn (respectively) at C.R. 739.

The Barracuda Bridge is closed to vehicle and pedestrian traffic.

Barracuda Boulevard, including the Barracuda Bridge, is closed from The Middle Way to Quay Assisi in New Smyrna Beach, Volusia County. This stretch of Barracuda Boulevard will remain closed until project completion, which is estimated to be Summer 2024. Motorists and pedestrians wishing to access the Marine Discovery Center and properties on Quay Assisi and adjacent side streets will be directed through a temporary detour route along Quay Assisi and North Causeway.

Watercraft access will be maintained during construction of the new Barracuda Bridge. However, there will be brief instances in which marine traffic access will be limited in the work zone for safety purposes. During these short closures, boaters are encouraged to use the channel below North Causeway to access Indian River North.
