New Traffic Configuration Coming to Station Street in Oviedo

Seminole County – Drivers in the area of State Road (S.R.) 434 (N. Central Avenue) between Smith Street to Franklin Street will need to be prepared for a new traffic configuration beginning Wednesday, January 17, 2018.

The Contractor has closed traffic on Station Street to allow for the construction of traffic separators on Station Street and Broadway Avenue - County Road (C.R.) 419 and for the removal of the traffic signal.

The work is part of a Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) project to widen S.R. 434 between Smith Street to Franklin Street from a two-lane to a four-lane roadway.

The work taking place, is an attempt to improve the overall traffic flow through this downtown Oviedo area.

When construction in this area is complete, changes will be as follows:

Station Street – Traffic along Station Street will be bi-directional. Motorists will only be able to make right turns from and to Broadway Avenue (C.R. 419). Westbound left turns will remain prohibited at Station Street.

Geneva Road (C.R. 426) - Motorists will only be able to make right turns from and onto Broadway Avenue (C.R. 419) at this access connection. Eastbound left turns from Broadway Avenue will be prohibited.

Schedule updates are available on the FDOT Central Florida website, www.cflroads.com.

For construction-related questions, please contact Alicia Arroyo, Public Information Coordinator, 407-278-2713   or @dot.state.fl.us. Media inquiries should be directed to FDOT Communications Manager Steve Olson at 386-943-5479 or steve.olson@dot.state.fl.us.
