Widening on US 17/92 in Seminole County near City of Longwood [240196-1] View Project
  • Monday, February 3rd, 2020 to Tuesday, March 31st, 2020

General Hutchison Parkway from U.S. 17/92 to east of Big Tree Park is closed to traffic. Construction crews will be raising General Hutchison Parkway to U.S. 17/92, constructing the southbound phase of the bridge over Soldiers Creek, and widening southbound U.S. 17/92 from Bill Ray Nissan to Shepard Road.

During the closure, northbound and southbound U.S. 17/92 traffic needing to access General Hutchison Parkway may utilize one of two detours (see detour map):

    • U.S. 17/92 to westbound Ronald Reagan Boulevard, or
    • U.S. 17/92 to westbound State Road (S.R.) 434 to northbound Ronald Reagan Boulevard

Electronic message boards have been installed to inform motorists about the road closure, and detour signs will direct traffic.

General Hutchison Parkway is scheduled to reopen in early March 2020, barring any weather-related delays or unforeseen circumstances.

  • Friday, February 21st, 2020 to Monday, February 24th, 2020

Friday, Feb. 21, 7:30 p.m. – Monday, Feb. 24, 6:30 a.m.: Weekend lane closures for northbound U.S. 17-92 from County Home Road to Collins Drive. Outside travel lanes in work zone will be open to local business traffic only. Crews will be installing storm drainage south of Collins Drive.

Motorists traveling north on U.S. 17-92 will be detoured onto eastbound County Home Road toward Ronald Reagan Boulevard. Drivers will be directed to turn left onto northbound Ronald Reagan to Lake Mary Boulevard. Motorists will turn left westbound on Lake Mary Boulevard toward U.S. 17-92 to complete the detour.
