About

The U.S. 92 Beachside Study is being conducted to analyze the beachside section of US 92 (International Speedway Boulevard), from the Halifax River Bridge to State Road (SR) A1A (Atlantic Avenue) in Volusia County, which builds upon the previously prepared U.S 92 Corridor Master Management Plan.  This second phase will further develop a more comprehensive and uptodate management plan, including an implementation program, to guide and coordinate FDOT safety, enhancement, transit, congestion management and economic development investments, as well as the private sector equivalents, along the US 92 corridor between the Halifax River Bridge and SR A1A/Atlantic Avenue in the City of Daytona Beach.

This update will be coordinated with local and regional agency partners such as the River to Sea Transportation Planning Organization (TPO) and the City of Daytona Beach to analyze and develop the potential solutions that establish a more walkable urban environment utilizing a context-sensitive approach.  This study will involve a community-based evaluation to determine how best to meet the needs of current and future users, and to establish a long-term plan to guide evolution of the corridor that appropriately correlates the balance between land use and transportation planning.
