This project will reconstruct U.S. 17/92 from Shepard Road to Lake Mary Boulevard from a rural four-lane roadway to an urban six-lane roadway. This contract includes construction of a new bridge to replace the existing box culvert at Soldiers Creek.

It also includes milling and resurfacing, drainage improvements, signing and pavement makings, lighting, signals, and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS). Additionally, water mains and force mains for the City of Sanford and Seminole County will be installed.

This project has been combined with:

  • 240196-1-56-01 – City of Sanford (Water Main & Force Main)
  • 240196-1-56-02 – City of Sanford (6” Force Main around Exfiltration System)
  • 240196-1-56-03 – Seminole County (Water Main & Force Main)

    U.S. 17/92 - Detour of General Hutchinson Parkway in Longwood

     

    General Hutchinson Parkway from U.S. 17/92 to east of Big Tree Park will be closed until late January 2020. Construction crews will be raising General Hutchinson Parkway to U.S. 17/92, constructing the southbound phase of the bridge over Soldiers Creek, and widening southbound U.S. 17/92 from Bill Ray Nissan to Shepard Road.

     

    During the closure, northbound and southbound U.S. 17/92 traffic needing to access General Hutchinson Parkway may utilize one of two detours (see attached map):

    ·         U.S. 17/92 to westbound Ronald Reagan Boulevard, or

    ·         U.S. 17/92 to westbound State Road (S.R.) 434 to northbound Ronald Reagan Boulevard 

     

     

  • Monday, January 20th, 2020 to Friday, January 24th, 2020

    Monday, Jan. 20 – Friday, Jan. 24 from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.: Daytime single right lane closure on U.S. 17-92 at eastbound Ronald Reagan Boulevard. Contractors will close the right lane to construct the roadway and curb on the southeast corner of Ronald Reagan Boulevard.
