A Typical Section Alternative Analysis will be conducted to review the PD&E typical section and other typical sections to ensure the proposed typical section meets the requirements of this corridor and today’s standards.
Bicycle and Pedestrian Accommodations will be provided with each project and include 5-foot sidewalks and 7-foot buffered bike lanes in each direction. Pedestrian Signals at signalized intersections will also be provided.
An access management report will be conducted to review the existing median openings, turn lanes and geometry.
Traffic Control Plans will consist of three major phases of construction. The first phase will construct the two new outside eastbound lanes. The second will construct the two new outside westbound lanes. The final phase will construct the median and inside eastbound and westbound lane. The drainage design approach for both the West and East projects is to utilize existing Orange County regional ponds to provide the required treatment for the proposed roadway improvements. The East Project (FPID: 239203-8) will be responsible for drainage permitting for both projects. This drainage approach is anticipated to eliminate the need for purchasing right-of-way for ponds.
