456096-2 S.R. 50 from East of Econ River Bridge to Chuluota Road

This is second segment of a project to widen State Road (S.R.) 50 (East Colonial Drive) from Avalon Park Boulevard to Chuluota Road (County Road (C.R.) 419) near Bithlo in Orange County. This segment will widen from east of the Econlockhatchee River Bridge to Chuluota Road. The rest of the corridor will be widened under project 456096-1.

The improved S.R. 50 will have three travel lanes in each direction separated by a raised median.  Full and directional median openings will be provided at certain locations along the corridor.

New signalized intersections are being added at Tanner Road and The Grow entrance road. After construction, Duke Energy will provide lighting along the entire project corridor.

In addition, FDOT is designing and constructing a new two-lane bus access road from East River High School to East Colonial Drive at the Corner School Drive intersection.
