About

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is proposing to improve safety and traffic operations on State Road (S.R.) 44 (Gulf Atlantic Coast Highway) east of U.S. 301 (Main Street). These improvements are recommended based on a safety study conducted in October 2018. The proposed improvements will be constructed in two phases. The initial (interim) improvement consists of the installation of Quick-Curb with delineator posts as shown below. Installation is anticipated to take place in January 2020.

The proposed long term improvement involves the construction of an additional westbound left turn at U.S. 301, construction of a concrete median from U.S. 301 to west of Legion Avenue, with a bi-directional opening at the Wildwood Townhomes entrance (shown below). This construction is expected to begin in December 2021.

*Letting dates are subject to change.

This project was put on hold and to handled with a future resurfacing project.
