445696-2 S.R. 438 (Silverstar Road) Intersection Improvements

About
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is improving safety and operations on Silver Star Road (State Road (S.R.) 438) at the intersections of Le Havre Boulevard/Coast Line Drive and Dardanelle Drive in Orlando. At Le Havre Boulevard/Coast Line Drive, new traffic signals and a Restricted Crossing U-Turn (RCUT) intersection will be installed. The RCUT design reduces potential pedestrian conflict points and allows for fewer signal phases for vehicles, which helps improve both safety and traffic flow. The existing median will also be enlarged to include a refuge for pedestrians crossing Silver Star Road. As part of the improvements planned for this project, new roadway signage, traffic signal upgrades and sidewalk modifications that meet current Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards will be installed at the Dardanelle Drive intersection.

Monday, March 23, through Friday, March 27, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.: Motorists should expect westbound and eastbound single lane closures on Silverstar Road from Coastline Drive to Dardanelle Drive for drill shaft work. FDOT encourages the traveling public to drive, walk, and ride with caution and courtesy.
