About

The purpose of the project is to resurface a segment of U.S. 301 (State Road (S.R.) 35) from north of County Road (C.R.) 42 to north of SE 144th Place Road to extend the service life of the existing roadway. Additionally, the project plans safety and operational improvements, including constructing a new traffic signal at the intersection of U.S. 301 and SE 147th Street.

Other improvements include guardrail reconstruction, shoulder widening, addition of bicycle through lanes (keyholes) next to turn lanes and drainage system modifications. Audible and vibratory pavement markings will also be added along the shoulders in specific areas to enhance safety by alerting drivers if a vehicle veers outside of the travel lane.

The project will also reconstruct the curve north of SE 147th Street and enhance lighting at the curve.
