The purpose of this project is to rehabilitate the existing pavement on U.S. 1 (State Road 5) from the Brevard County line to South Street in Volusia County, a distance of nearly 6.7 miles. The project calls for resurfacing the travel and auxiliary lanes, paved shoulders and median crossovers.  Drainage improvements, guardrail replacement, and sidewalk reconstruction in certain locations is also included.
