About

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will be reconstructing the southbound Interstate 95 (I-95) rest area at mile marker 227 between Deering Parkway and State Road 46 in Mims. Truck parking will be expanded from 33 spaces to 79 spaces. This additional parking serves a critical need for freight traffic, which is essential to Florida’s growth and economy. Additional improvements include building a fenced-in pet area, expanding restroom facilities to include family rooms with adult changing tables, adding infrastructure for future electric vehicle charging stations, and incorporating real-time traffic and safety information via monitors in the rest area breezeway.
