About

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is providing safety and operational improvements along the corridor. The project will mill and resurface U.S. 1 from the Indian River/Brevard County line to Goat Creek. Improvements at the intersection with Micco Road include replacing and upgrading the traffic signal, lighting upgrades, and adding a southbound left turn lane to make it safer for vehicles making U-turns at the intersection. At Barefoot Bay Boulevard, the project proposes to replace and upgrade the traffic signals and upgrade the lighting.

Work will also include guardrail upgrades and necessary drainage enhancements. Pedestrian curb ramp reconstruction in compliance with current Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards at signalized crosswalks, and construction of bicycle through lanes at the intersections are also planned.
