The project also includes the paving of street approaches on S.R. 33 and miscellaneous drainage improvements. The approaches will match the existing roadway while the bridge is expected to have a 12-foot travel lane and 10-foot paved shoulder in each direction. This project has been combined with project 436127-1, which involves constructing a southbound left turn lane on S.R. 33 to County Road (C.R.) 561.
S.R. 33 will be closed to thru traffic between C.R. 474 and S.R. 50. Therefore, thru traffic will be directed around the work zone using C.R. 474, U.S. 27 and S.R. 50. Local traffic will be maintained on S.R. 33 with the exception of where the road will be closed to all traffic from just north of Oil Well Road to just south of C.R. 561.

At this time, the closure of State Road 33 at the Green Swamp bridge has been postponed. This comes after further consultation with local partners to explore other means and methods that could offer less disruption. The additional time will allow everyone to see if there is another option, other than the total shutdown of traffic at the site of the current bridge during demolition and reconstruction.
A new construction timetable is being developed that will be based on how the construction scope is modified.
