About
The project consists of design and construction of the section of the Florida East Central Regional Rail Trail from Kingman Road/Smokey Lane to the Volusia County line. The approximate 12.8 mile paved, multi-use trail will be part of the Coast-to-Coast trail system from St. Petersburg to Titusville. The project scope includes:
   • A trailhead at the Aurantia Road crossing with a paved parking area and an adjacent unpaved parking area for equestrian trailers.
   • An 8-foot wide unpaved equestrian trail of approximately 5.4 miles from the Aurantia Road trailhead to the Volusia County line, parallel to the paved multi-use trail.
   • Replacement of numerous dirt road crossings and driveways with concrete surfaces.
   • Seven concrete structures built to cross existing water and wetlands.
   • Bicycle and pedestrian designation signing and pavement markings for the multi-use trail, trailhead, street crossings, and mid-block street and school crossings.
