About

The purpose of this project is to improve traffic flow, enhance safety and provide improved mobility for pedestrians and bicyclists along Forest City Road (State Road (S.R.) 434) from Edgewater Drive (S.R. 424) to the Seminole County line near Maitland Boulevard (S.R. 414).

Among the improvements under consideration are widening the roadway to six lanes, adding bicycle lanes, and improving sidewalks and crosswalks throughout this section of the corridor.

The Department has been evaluating additional safety improvements as part of its renewed effort to work toward a goal of zero fatalities and serious injuries on state roadways. The Department will be updating the community as design plans move forward.

Right of way acquisition will be needed to accommodate the planned improvements.
