Input Sought on Orange Avenue Corridor Design
Public hearing to be held Nov. 19

Orlando, Fla. -- The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is designing corridor improvements along Orange Avenue from Grant Street to Gore Street. In addition to resurfacing the roadway, the project includes construction of curb extensions (bulb-outs) to define on-street parking areas, raised medians in certain locations to improve safety and traffic operations, and enhanced pedestrian features in compliance with the current Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards. The project also includes minor drainage improvements, new signing and marking features, as well as signal upgrades, pedestrian lighting, and decorative, colored crosswalks near the Pulse memorial.

A project location map is attached for reference. The community is invited to learn about the proposed improvements and provide comment during a public hearing on Thursday, Nov. 19, 2019, at the Christ Church of Orlando located at 2200 S. Orange Ave. in Orlando. The hearing will begin with an open house at 5:30 p.m., followed by the formal presentation at 6 p.m.
