Matanzas Woods Parkway at U.S. 1 to Close Starting Oct. 28

Palm Coast, Fla. Construction has begun on the U.S. 1 at Matanzas Woods Parkway roundabout, and the first detour is set to begin later this month. The first phase of construction requires the closure of Matanzas Woods Parkway at U.S. 1 for an estimate of four months.  The inside lanes of U.S. 1 will also close, reducing traffic to one outside lane in each direction on U.S. 1. These closures are expected to begin on Monday, October 28.

During the closure, electronic message boards and other signage will be used to direct traffic using the following detour routes:

U.S. 1 to Matanzas Woods Parkway

• Drivers traveling southbound on U.S. 1 to Matanzas Woods Parkway will need to turn left onto  Old Kings Road, and then right onto Matanzas Woods Parkway.
• Drivers traveling northbound on U.S. 1 to Matanzas Woods Parkway will need to turn right onto Palm Coast Parkway, left onto Belle Terre Parkway, and follow it to Matanzas Woods Parkway.

Matanzas Woods Parkway to U.S. 1

• Drivers on Matanzas Woods Parkway traveling to southbound U.S. 1 will need to turn left onto Belle Terre Parkway, turn right onto Palm Coast Parkway, and left onto U.S. 1.
• Drivers on Matanzas Woods Parkway traveling to northbound U.S. 1 will need to turn left onto Old Kings Road, and then take a right onto U.S. 1.

The work is part of a Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) project to construct a roundabout at the intersection of U.S. 1 and Matanzas Woods Parkway. Other improvements include drainage, sidewalk, and crosswalks for pedestrians and bicyclist moving through the intersection from the existing trail.
