Southbound Traffic Shift Planned for John Young Parkway

Work to take place overnight from Technology Drive to Shader Road

Orlando, Fla. A traffic shift for southbound lanes on John Young Parkway (State Road (S.R.) 423) between Technology Drive and Shader Road is scheduled for tomorrow night, July 31, from 8 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.

Please note this schedule can change due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

Southbound traffic from Technology Drive to Silver Star Road (S.R. 416) will shift east onto the temporary pavement in the median. Then once past Silver Star Road, traffic will shift west onto the newly constructed southbound lanes.

Electronic message boards and other signage will be used to direct traffic.

The work is part of a Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) project to widen John Young Parkway from S.R. 50 to Shader Road.

Media inquiries should be directed to the FDOT Communications Office at FDOT-D5COMM@dot.state.fl.us or by phone at 386-943-5479. Project information is also available online at CFLRoads.com.

FDOT urges all drivers to stay alert and use caution while driving through or near construction zones. When driving, walking, or bicycling, remember to pay attention and follow the rules. Safety doesn't happen by accident.
