Feedback Opportunity for U.S. 17 Trail Alternatives

Volusia County, Fla. The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is conducting an open house for U.S. 17 trail alternatives that resulted from a Project Development and Environment (PD&E) Study. The open house will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 30, at the Pierson Community Center located at 124 West Washington Avenue.

The limits for this project are along U.S. 17 from State Road (S.R.) 40 to the Volusia/Putnam county line, a distance of approximately 14 miles. This study is part of an effort to complete the St. Johns River to Sea (SJR2C) Loop a 260-mile multi-use trail system that connects Volusia, Putnam, St. Johns, Flagler, and Brevard counties.

The open house provides interested persons an opportunity to express their views concerning the social, economic, and environmental impacts of the proposed trail alternatives. While there is no formal presentation, participants may watch a looping video, review study information, and discuss the alternatives under consideration with FDOT staff and study team representatives at any time during the open house.
