Volusia County- Earlier today, Feb. 8, crews completed work needed to address a depression that had formed underground near the roadway along Saxon Boulevard in Deltona. With work complete, the right lane of westbound Saxon Boulevard, near the I-4 overpass, has been reopened.

 

Work began Feb. 4, and was anticipated to take up to 10 days. This work included a grouting operation, where a fluid concrete is injected to create a stable base underground. Crews completed repairs in five days and pumped 130 cubic yards of grout underground. Total cost of the repair was approximately $150,000.

Drivers along Saxon Boulevard in Deltona will see continue to see activity in the area for the on-going resurfacing project. Paving work on this project is scheduled to occur sometime next week.
