One Westbound Lane of Saxon Boulevard Closed near Deltona

TRAFFIC ALERT

Deltona - Drivers in Volusia County need to factor extra time if traveling on westbound Saxon Boulevard from Deltona to Interstate 4 (I-4). The right lane of westbound Saxon Boulevard, near the I-4 overpass, is closed for safety. The left lane remains open.

Crews are assessing a depression that has formed deep underground, and are working to correct the issue. The solution will call for pumping grout-a concrete mix-underground to compact and strengthen soils below the depression. Until that occurs the right lane will remain closed.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is working to get a construction team in place to perform the corrective work and is establishing a timetable. In this area, Saxon Boulevard is a local road. However, the area is adjacent to the FDOT work zone for an exit ramp construction project.

FDOT reminds drivers to use caution while driving through construction zones and be alert to any traffic pattern changes.
