Feedback Opportunity for U.S. 17/92 Safety Improvements

 

Osceola County - The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will hold a public hearing on Thursday, Nov. 15 from 5-7 p.m. about proposed safety and operational improvements on U.S. 17/92 (North Main Street/North Orange Blossom Trail) between U.S. 92 (Vine Street) and West Hilda Street. The hearing will be held at Osceola County Administration Building in the 2nd Floor Conference Room.

The hearing will begin as an informational open house at 5 p.m., during which time project displays and other information will be available for review. Staff also will be available to discuss the project and answer questions. A presentation will begin at 6 p.m., after which, participants may provide their verbal comments to all present.

The project proposes to construct concrete traffic separators in the median at the West Cypress Street intersection and south of the Tremont Avenue intersection. A mid-block pedestrian refuge island is also proposed between Hilda Street and Ridgewood Avenue, in front of the Florida Hospital.
