U.S.
17/92 Lane Closures at Lake Mary Boulevard in Sanford
Seminole County – A
detour is in effect this weekend for drivers traveling south on U.S. 17/92
toward Lake Mary Boulevard. The closure affects the left turn lanes. The
closure also affects two southbound through lanes. All are closing
tonight/Friday night.
The left turn lanes reopen tomorrow/Saturday evening. The
other lanes reopen around 6:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 17. Please note, one
southbound lane is remaining open. The contractor is constructing concrete
pavement.
How it works if you want to head east/go left from southbound
U.S. 17/92 onto Lake Mary Boulevard
- No left turns are allowed during
Friday night-Saturday evening. The detour is a looping circle, which will
require drivers to go west on Lake Mary Boulevard, through Seminole State
College, to County Home Road, then to northbound U.S. 17/92, and then to
eastbound Lake Mary Boulevard. Detour signs are posted, as drivers will
need to pay attention to this circular route.
How it works if you want to keep heading south (straight) on
U.S.17/92, or head west/turn right onto Lake Mary Boulevard
- Drivers may proceed through
the single lane/far right lane at the
intersection or make a right turn onto Lake Mary Boulevard from that same far right lane.
The
work is part of a Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) project to
widen U.S. 17/92 from four to six lanes from Shepard Road to Lake Mary
Boulevard.
Please note this schedule may change due to weather or other unexpected conditions. Construction updates are available on FDOT’s Central Florida website, www.cflroads.com.
