Northbound U.S. 17/92 in DeBary Remains Closed

Volusia County  The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is executing an emergency contract to repair, rebuild and reopen northbound U.S. 17/92 at Hollow Pine Drive in DeBary. The department is entering into a contract with P&S Paving of Daytona Beach to do the repairs. The emergency contract is roughly $594,000. This is the lowest bid among four bids submitted during the weekend. The work includes underground grouting to stabilize a depression that formed along the roadway last week as well as reconstructing the roadway. The contract allows 21 days.

Until further notice, all northbound lanes of U.S. 17/92 in that area remain closed. The northbound detour for through-traffic is eastbound Highbanks Road, to northbound Enterprise Road, to westbound Saxon Boulevard, and then back to northbound U.S. 17/92. Local traffic, to and from homes, may get as far north as the scene itself, but will be able to go no farther. Drivers heading northbound need to factor in extra time and exercise patience.

Avoid distractions while driving. Stay alert and put the phone down. It can wait.
