Detour for Eastbound S.R. 44 at Amelia Avenue in Downtown DeLand

 

DeLand The detour for eastbound S.R. 44 near Amelia Avenue in downtown DeLand has been canceled for the weekend. The work has been rescheduled to occur as nightly lane closures with detours starting Monday, July 16, from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. each night.

 

During the nightly closures of eastbound S.R. 44, Amelia Avenue also will be closed to through traffic between Rich and Howry avenues.

 

The posted detour route for eastbound traffic uses Alabama, Howry and S. Arlington avenues. Westbound S.R. 44 will remain open, and access to businesses and residences will be maintained.

 

The work is part of a Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) project to repair and replace sections of concrete roadway along S.R. 44 between Boundary and Hill avenues. Electronic message boards will be used to alert motorists of impacts.
