UPDATE: Schedule of S.R. 408 Ramp Closures Extends for Two More Nights

Orlando - Nightly ramp closures at the Interstate 4 (I-4) and State Road (S.R.) 408 interchange will continue for two more nights on February 22 and February 23.

To accommodate the safe placement of bridge girders, the eastbound and westbound S.R. 408 entrance ramps from I-4 and westbound S.R. 408 exit ramp to westbound I-4 will close tonight (February 21) from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. tomorrow morning (February 22). The operation will continue for two more consecutive nights at 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. on February 22-23 and at 10:30 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. on February 23-24.

A handout illustrating the closures and corresponding detours is available online to view or download at: http://fdot.tips/WB408.

Overall, the work has proceeded smoothly, even with the time adjustment, as I-4 Ultimate crews still expect to finish the operation three days ahead of the original schedule.

Since last week, four large bridge girders - a structural component used to support bridge decks - have been placed for the flyover ramp from eastbound and westbound I-4 to westbound S.R. 408. You can watch progress of the operation at night by viewing the live construction camera atop the SunTrust Center at http://fdot.tips/i4camera.
