Traffic Shift Slated for John Young Parkway in Kissimmee

Osceola County Starting at approximately 6 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 21, both northbound and southbound traffic will be shifted from the two outside lanes to the two inside lanes on State Road (S.R.) 423/John Young Parkway from south of Portage Street to north of Vine Street in Kissimmee.

The new traffic pattern is necessary to complete work on the outside lanes. Electronic message boards have been installed to inform motorists about the traffic shift. Please note construction schedules may change due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

The work is part of a Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) project to widen and reconstruct John Young Parkway from south of Portage Street to north of Vine Street.

Project updates will be posted to FDOT's Central Florida website, www.cflroads.com. Or, visit the project page directly.

For construction-related questions, please contact Shemir Wiles, Public Information Coordinator, 321-319-8130 or shemir.wiles@dot.state.fl.us. Media inquiries should be directed to FDOT Communications Office, 386-943-5479 or d5-pio@dot.state.fl.us.

FDOT advises drivers to slow down in construction zones; the life you save may be your own.
