Osceola County Beginning at 9 a.m. Monday, Oct. 9, Brown Chapel Road at State Road (S.R.) 500/U.S. 192 near Kissimmee will be closed for approximately three weeks.

A detour will be in effect. U.S. 192 traffic needing to access Brown Chapel Road will be directed to Old Canoe Creek Road. The left turn lane from eastbound U.S. 192 to Brown Chapel Road, and the right turn lane on westbound U.S. 192 at Brown Chapel Road will also be closed.

Electronic message boards have been installed to inform motorists about the road closure, and detour signs will direct traffic.

The work is part of a Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) project to widen S.R. 500 (U.S. 192) from Aeronautical Drive to Budinger Avenue. Please note construction schedules may change due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
