Widening on SR 46 in Seminole County near City of Sanford [240216-2] View Project
  • Tuesday, February 19th, 2019 to Wednesday, February 20th, 2019

Sanford Motorists will encounter a new configuration on SR 46. The detour road will no longer be utilized. Instead traffic will be moved to mainline SR 46 utilizing the future westbound traffic lanes for both east and westbound traffic.

The construction of the switch will take place on the night of February 19, with the new pattern being in effect the morning of February 20.

Please see attached map below under project files.

The work is part of the Florida Department of Transportation’s (FDOT) project to provide a four-lane roadway, which will include two 11-foot travel lanes and one 6-foot bicycle lane in each direction.

Please note that work schedules may change. Electronic message boards and other signage will be used to safely direct motorists, pedestrians and bicyclists around the work areas. Drivers are asked to pay attention and use caution when traveling through a construction zone.

Project updates are available on the FDOT’s Central Florida website, www.CFLRoads.com.

Media inquiries should be directed to the FDOT Communications Office at 386-943-5497 or d5-pio@dot.state.fl.us.
