• Monday, September 28: Due to unforeseen circumstances, today’s lane closure schedule has been extended through the afternoon. A single inside lane closure will remain in place as construction activities continue. The lane closure schedule is expected to resume as scheduled following today’s work.

  Beginning Sunday, September 27: Motorists are advised that the inside, westbound lanes of Interstate 4 (I-4) near Mile Marker 125 will be closed intermittently beginning Sunday, Sept. 27. for construction activities. These closures will occur between State Road 44 (Exit 118) and Interstate 95 (Exit 129) interchanges.

  A single inside lane closure will be implemented beginning at 6:30 p.m. followed by a double inside lane closure at 8 p.m. and ending at 7 a.m. the next morning. The lane closures are needed for striping operations.  Once the striping is completed, traffic will be shifted to the remaining three lanes.

  This work is part of the I-4 Truck Parking project that will construct a new westbound truck parking facility in Volusia County to help address the shortage of truck parking along the I-4 corridor.

  The work schedule is subject to change due to inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

  FDOT advises motorists to use caution, stay alert, and follow all posted signage.

• The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will close all lanes of westbound I-4 Express from John Young Parkway (State Road (S.R.) 423) to the end of I-4 Express just west of Kirkman Road (S.R. 435) overnight on Monday, September 28, and Tuesday, September 29. The closures will begin as early as 11 p.m. both nights and are expected to end by 5:30 a.m. the following morning, with the final closure ending the morning of Wednesday, September 30.

  These closures are necessary for overhead sign construction.

  Detour Information

  Motorists traveling westbound on I-4 Express will be directed to exit the express lanes onto the westbound Interstate 4 (I-4) general-use lanes near John Young Parkway (local exits 78-74AB).

  Access to and from westbound I-4 Express direct connect ramps at Florida’s Turnpike and Grand National Drive will be restricted as part of the closure.

  FDOT advises motorists to follow all posted detour signs. Construction schedules are subject to change due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
