Thursday, May 16, and Friday, May 17, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on both days, single lane closure on westbound State Road 44 (New York Avenue W) between just east of the power lines and Linda Drive for shoulder construction.

Starting May 20, 2024, Old New York Avenue (County Road 4110) under the new bridge structure near Shady Oak Restaurant and Captain Jed's Airboat Rides will be closed for approximately three weeks. This closure is necessary to facilitate the reconstruction of the roadway underneath the new State Road 44 Bridge. During this period, a detour will be in place to guide motorists to their destinations. Drivers will be directed by video message boards and other signage to follow the designated detour route as follows:

DETOUR: Motorists wishing to access local residences and businesses along Old New York Avenue (County Road 4110) under the bridge will be detoured down New York Avenue (S.R. 44) and South Shell Road by signage.

The construction schedule is subject to change pending weather or other unforeseen circumstances. Please follow posted signage, avoid distractions, and allow extra travel time to reach your destination.

The travel lanes on US 17 from SR 15A to south of Spring Street have been reduced to one inside lane in each direction from north of Retta Street to Spring Street for paving operations at the U-turn locations. The median crossover at Reynolds Road/Wheeler Street will remain open during this work.

Monday, March 11, to Monday, May 27,

Motorists can expect an outside lane closure northbound along U.S. 1 in front of Castaway Marine.

Closure is needed for drainage operations.

Sunday, May 12, through Friday, May 31, from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.: Motorists should expect overnight northbound and southbound lane closures on U.S. 301 (S.R. 35) within the project limits for signal work and paving operations. Please slowly approach the construction zone, alertly merge into the open lane, and proceed cautiously through the work area.

Ramp Closure: Northbound Florida's Turnpike/S.R. 91 off-ramp to Wildwood/U.S. 301 (Exit 304)

Nightly full ramp closure* from Sunday, April 21, through Friday, May 31, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. 

Detour information: Northbound Florida's Turnpike/S.R. 91 traffic wishing to exit at Wildwood/U.S. 301 (Exit 304) will be directed to continue north to exit at Inverness/Wildwood/S.R. 44 (Exit 307) and then to travel east on S.R. 44 to South Main Street/S.R. 35/U.S. 301.

The Barracuda Bridge is closed to vehicle and pedestrian traffic.

Barracuda Boulevard, including the Barracuda Bridge, is closed from The Middle Way to Quay Assisi in New Smyrna Beach, Volusia County. This stretch of Barracuda Boulevard will remain closed until project completion, which is estimated to be Summer 2024. Motorists and pedestrians wishing to access the Marine Discovery Center and properties on Quay Assisi and adjacent side streets will be directed through a temporary detour route along Quay Assisi and North Causeway.

Watercraft access will be maintained during construction of the new Barracuda Bridge. However, there will be brief instances in which marine traffic access will be limited in the work zone for safety purposes. During these short closures, boaters are encouraged to use the channel below North Causeway to access Indian River North.

Tuesday, May 14 from 1:00 am to 3:00 pm

Motorists can expect single lane closures (outside lane) Westbound over the NASA causeway bridge. These closures are needed for concrete pouring P18 footing seal slab. 

Wednesday, May 15 from 10:00 pm to 3:00 pm

Motorists can expect single lane closures (outside lane) Westbound over the NASA causeway bridge. These closures are needed for concrete pouring on P16 column. 

Friday, May 17 from 3:00 am to 10:00 am

Motorists can expect single lane closures (outside lane) Westbound over the NASA causeway bridge. These closures are needed for concrete pouring on P15 cap.
