About

The goal of this project is to improve safety at the intersection of East Silver Springs Boulevard/State Road (S.R.) 40 and Northeast 14th Street (S.R. 492) in Ocala. The proposed design would replace the existing free-flow dual right turn lanes from westbound East Silver Springs Boulevard to westbound Northeast 14th Street with a signalized, single right turn lane for both driver and pedestrian safety.

The project will also enhance safety for bicyclists by adding a 7-foot-wide, buffered bike lane beginning on East Silver Springs Boulevard and connecting to the existing bicycle lane on Northeast14th Street. New pedestrian crosswalks will also be added.

The traffic signals at the intersection will be upgraded and the roadway will be repaved within the project limits.
