Contractor P&S Paving will be starting the next tasks associated with this design-build contract. The projects are:
S.R. 434 and Tarry Town Trail/Roxboro Road
The project involves construction of single mast arms for the signals, as well as extending the left turn lanes at the intersection to meet current design standards.
The contractor is expected to begin construction on the drilled shafts for the mast arms in January. Actual signal installation is expected by late February.
S.R. 520 (W. Cocoa Beach Causeway) at the entrance to Cape Canaveral Hospital
The project involves replacing the existing strain poles with mast arms, removing the continuous green light for eastbound through traffic, and bringing the westbound and southbound right turn lanes under signal control. This safety enhancement project also includes construction of a pedestrian crossing on S.R. 520 to connect the multi-use trail on the south side of the road with the bus stop on the northwest side of the
intersection. The existing eastbound left turn lane will be lengthened to meet current design standards.
Construction on the drilled shafts is expected to begin in January.
