This project involves the widening and reconstruction of State Road (S.R.) 482 (Sand Lake Road) from west of Universal Boulevard to west of S.R. 423 (John Young Parkway).

 

This project includes the addition of new lanes, milling and resurfacing, new asphalt pavement, new concrete pavement, concrete sidewalks, storm drainage system, cantilever guide signs, signage, pavement markings, traffic signals, sanitary sewer, the demolition and reconstruction of the bridge over Shingle Creek, new bike trails at the elevated Shingle Creek bridge, and a bridge widening of the S.R. 435 (Kirkman Road) Overpass.

 

A public meeting was held on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at the Iglesia El Calvario located at 2500 W. Oak Ridge Road in Orlando.

This project goes with 407143-4 [S.R. 482 (Sand Lake Road) from West of International Drive to Universal Boulevard and International Drive from Jamaican Court to North of Sand Lake Road]; 407143-6 [S.R. 482 (Sand Lake Road) from West of S.R. 423 (John Young Parkway) to east of Florida's Turnpike] 

Lane Closures
  • Sunday, December 10th, 2017 to Friday, December 15th, 2017

    Nighttime (6 p.m. – 6 a.m.) detours expected this week in the Sand Lake Road/Kirkman Road area for bridge work.

  • Monday, December 11th, 2017 to Friday, December 15th, 2017

    8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
    Contractor will continue temporary detours for closures at the Kirkman Road bridges to allow for new construction and bridge demolition.

  • Monday, December 11th, 2017 to Friday, December 15th, 2017

    8 p.m. to 7 a.m.
    Eastbound and westbound alternating lane closures from Universal Boulevard to John Young Parkway. Contractor will continue to work on temporary barrier walls and crash cushions in various locations. They will also have various lane closures for Shingle Creek bridge work in both eastbound and westbound directions and for drainage/force main work.

    Right turn lanes will remain closed on all four corners of Sand Lake Road and John Young Parkway for an extended period of time.
