This project includes resurfacing of U.S. 1 (South Dixie Freeway) from south of Smith Street to south of Washington Street. This project also will widen U.S. 1 at the intersection of Canal Street to accommodate new turn lanes, and raise a portion of U.S. 1 to address flooding.

Other improvements are traffic lightpole upgrades and drainage improvements, including the installation of two large drainage structures along Andrews Street and the intersection with Live Oak Street, and at Riverside Drive where stormwater enters the river.
