About

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will be widening State Road 600/U.S. 17-92 from two to four lanes starting west of Poinciana Boulevard to Ham Brown Road (County Road 535) in Kissimmee.

In addition to adding lanes and a grass median, work will include drainage improvements, traffic signal upgrades and median access improvements. The contractor will also be installing new Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) tubing and fiber, highway signs, lighting and sidewalks.

There will be seven median access changes on the project. Three full median openings will be constructed at Avenue A, Alexander Street/Whispering Pines Boulevard and Business Center Lane. Full median openings allow left and rights turns into and out of a property. Four directional median openings will be constructed at Avenue B, Louis Drive, Delores Drive and Universal Drive. Directional median openings allow left and right turns into a property, but only right turns out of a property.
