Lake County - The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is holding an access management public hearing for State Road (SR) 500/US 441 design project in Mount Dora. The Department is designing improvements for SR 500/US 441 to provide roadway capacity to address future traffic demand, serve the community’s needs, and improve the quality of life for residents. The project will widen the roadway from a four-lane, divided rural roadway to a six-lane, high-speed urban roadway which will tie in to the SR 46 interchange to the south, and the six-lane section of SR 500/US 441 west of SR 44 to the north. The project is funded for design and right-of-way (2018-2019), but is not yet funded for construction.

The public hearing will be held Thursday, September 17, 2015, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., at the Mount Dora Community Building, 520 N. Baker Street, Mount Dora, Florida 32757. The meeting begins with an open house at 5:30 p.m., where participants may review project information and discuss the project with staff members. There will be a formal presentation at 6:30 p.m., after which participants may provide their verbal comments to all present. The hearing ends at 7:30 p.m. Staff will be available to discuss the project and answer questions, and participants may also provide comments directly to a court reporter before and after the formal presentation.
