Brevard County—A three night, major detour is set to begin on W. Main Street / State Road (SR) 46, as part of a project to widen and improve Interstate 95. The Lane Construction Corporation is performing the work under contract with the Florida Department of Transportation.

Tuesday, August 25 through the morning of Friday, August 28, motorists will need to plan ahead for eastbound and westbound road closures on SR 46 at the I-95 overpass.  SR 46 will be closed from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night, as the contractor rebuilds and resurfaces portions of road. The detour routes are:

If traveling eastbound on SR 46:

·     To go southbound on I-95 there will be no closures

·     To continue eastbound on SR 46 or travel northbound on I-95 (attached map)

If traveling westbound on SR 46:

·     To go northbound on I-95 there will be no closures

·     To continue westbound on SR 46 or travel southbound on I-95 (attached map)

Inclement weather and other unforeseen circumstances could delay or prolong work. For detour updates, visit www.cflroads.com.
