St. Johns River Railroad Drawbridge Closed to Most Marine Traffic
Sanford – Starting August 16, the railroad drawbridge spanning the St. Johns River between Volusia and Seminole counties will be locked in the closed (down) position for two weeks while necessary repairs are made. The work, which involves mechanical repairs to the drawbridge, will last approximately two weeks, until August 29, 2015. During that time, only watercraft shorter than 8-feet 6-inches tall will be allowed to pass beneath the lift span. Railroad traffic, including SunRail commuter rail service to and from DeBary, is not expected to be affected by the bridge work.
Safety along the Central Florida rail system is a top priority for SunRail. Be Smart. Be Safe.
