Home Owner’s Meeting for I-4 rest-area demolition and replacement

Seminole County - The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will have a home owner’s meeting regarding the reconstruction of the westbound I-4 Rest Area site (Facility #50222) located at Mile Marker 94 westbound in Longwood, Seminole County.

As the result of public input, the rest area project presented in March has been modified and now addresses only the westbound rest area. The building and amenities will be replaced in kind. No additional parking spaces will be added.

The project includes demolishing the existing rest area facility and constructing a new rest area building, fixtures, and equipment, including automobile and truck parking areas, interior circulation roadways, site amenities, sidewalks, utility connections, construction of entrance and exit ramps for the rest areas, and construction of stormwater management systems for the rest area and the under construction I-4 Ultimate Project.

The meeting will be 6:30 p.m. Monday, June 15, at the Markham Woods Church of Seventh Day Adventists, 505 Markham Woods Road in Longwood, FL 32779. There will be a brief presentation, and FDOT staff will be available to answer questions and take comments.
