There will be a  public hearing for the State Road (SR) 40 (East Silver Springs Boulevard) access management improvements, from NE 25th Avenue to west of NE 10th Street, which is approximately 1.2 miles.  The improvements for this section of SR 40 include: changing full median openings to directional type openings, closure of four median openings, addition of left turn lanes at median openings, signing and pavement marking improvements, and improvements to some side street connections. These improvements will take place within existing right-of-way so no additional right-of-way is needed.  Construction is funded for this project in Fiscal Year 2016.

The hearing will be held on Tuesday, March 24, 2015, at the Marion County Growth Services Training Room (next door to the Public Library), located at 2710 E. Silver Springs Boulevard, Ocala, Florida 34470.  The purpose of this hearing is to present information and to receive public input regarding the proposed access management changes.  The hearing will begin with an open house from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.  A project presentation will begin at 6:30 p.m. and will be followed by a formal public comment period.  Throughout the hearing, FDOT representatives will be available to discuss the project, answer questions, and receive comments.

Public participation is solicited without regard to race, color, national origin, age, sex, religion, disability or family status.  Persons who require special accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act or persons who require translation services (free of charge) should contact Laura Turner, AICP, LTPS Public Involvement Coordinator, by phone (407) 620-5095 or by email turnerlk1@aol.com at least seven days prior to the hearing.  If you are hearing or speech impaired, please contact us by using the Florida Relay Service, 1-800-955-8771 (TDD) or 1-800-955-8770 (Voice).
